ABOUT JOYBOMB
A KICK IN THE TEETH &
A KISS ON THE CHEEK
Joybomb is an explosive alt-rock band hailing from Memphis, TN, who seamlessly blend elements of indie, pop punk and post-hardcore, melding a live-wire sound powered by anthemic melodies and fiery guitar hooks. The quartet brings an electrifying energy to every live performance and takes head-on themes of bottomless consumer culture, chemical escapism, identity crises, absurd political theatre and tragic romance.
Joybomb has pulled no punches since their 2022 debut album American Cult Candy and their upcoming sophomore LP only further crystalizes their hook-oriented, punk-fueled approach to alt rock. Having gained two new members behind the wheel since last summer’s Modern Scripture EP, this 11-track album is catchy and consistently dynamic with a heavy urgency, cleverly ladened with thought-provoking anthems and socially charged angst.
Channeling pure, unadulterated Warped Tour vibes of the late nineties and mid aughts, Joybomb doles out the goods in the vein of Jimmy Eat World, Alkaline Trio, The Get Up Kids, Taking Back Sunday, Rival Schools and My Chemical Romance, while comparable to contemporaries like White Reaper, Basement, Scowl, and Amyl and the Sniffers.
Recent highlights for Joybomb include opening for Third Eye Blind and Real Friends, playing Riverbeat Music Fest 2025 alongside acts like The Killers and Cage The Elephant, releasing new singles “I, Paparazzi” and “Stigmata Palms,” being nominated Best Local Band in 2025 by the Memphis Flyer (having been a finalist in ‘24) and playing SXSW 2024.
